Zoonoses are diseases that can be transmitted between animals and people. There are over 200 zoonoses worldwide and more than 60% of known infectious diseases of people are zoonotic. Zoonotic diseases are an important health risk and concern for people and animals. Most zoonotic diseases can be avoided with proper prevention measures.
